Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Contract for Engineering Services with HDR Engineering, Inc. for the Gattis School Road Widening Project.

As part of Type B amendment #30, up to $500,000 was authorized for professional engineering services for traffic modeling, conceptual schematic design and utility identification for proposed improvements on Gattis School Road from west of Greenlawn Blvd. to east of Red Bud Lane. The Transportation Department believes that additional widening of Gattis School Road will be necessary in the future. As a result, we need some overall design assistance to define how and where that work will need to take place. Even though construction of needed improvements can be made incrementally, we need an overall design concept so that the improvements will all tie together. When the department went through the selection process for engineering services for the RM620 project, HDR came in second and was identified from that procedure to be eligible for this contract.This contract for professional services with HDR is intended to provide the required Gattis School Road project information.
Cost: $327,620.00
