Proposed is a $172,350.08 purchase order (PO) to Motorola Solutions Inc. for the purchase of police radios. During the most-recent budget process, City Council approved ten new police officer positions. Each police officer is assigned two radios - one in-car radio and a handheld they carry on their person. Included in the PO is one additional in-car radio to replace an existing, older-model radio. The Department is in the midst of replacing some of its older radios to accommodate technology changes that the radio system will require in the near future.
