Title

Consider a resolution determining that Braun and Butler Construction, Inc. provides the best value for the City for the Fire Station No. 10 Project and authorizing the Mayor to execute a Standard Form of Agreement.

Body

The City of Round Fire Department has identified City owned property at 4400 East Old Settlers Blvd. as an optimal location to build a Fire Station. The location would help serve the area East of Round Rock by reducing response times. McKinney York Architects has updated the City’s prototype Fire Station plans for code compliance and the project has been solicited to the General Contracting Community.

This resolution is for approval that Braun and Butler Construction, Inc. provides the best value for the City for Fire Station No. 10 construction. Competitive sealed proposal is a method of construction that allows the City of Round Rock to hire a contractor based off qualifications and low bid equaling the best value. The Fire Station No. 10 solicitation received seven qualified proposers. Braun and Butler Construction, after scoring and ranking by a selection committee, was found to be the best value.

Braun and Butler Construction have previously been awarded the Griffith Remodel and Paseo project and has proven themselves to be a capable contractor, providing excellent construction services.

Staff recommends approval.
