Title
Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Supplemental Contract No. 1 with Plummer and Associates, Inc. for the BCRWWS East Wastewater Treatment Plant Tertiary Filters Project.
Body
Brushy Creek Regional Wastewater Treatment System (BCRWWS) has recently expanded the capacity of the East Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant to 30 million gallons per day (MGD). As a result of the increased size of the plant, TCEQ could possibly place more stringent limitations on effluent quality both for now and in the future. In order to ensure these treatment standards are met, the partner Cities have decided to construct tertiary effluent filters which will add 48 MGD of capacity to the 6 MGD of existing filter capacity. In total, the plant will have 54 MGD of filter capacity at the completion of this project.
This request is for the approval of Supplemental Agreement No. 1 in the amount $788,073 with Plummer and Associates, Inc. This supplemental covers the remaining portion of final design and bid phase services associated with the tertiary filters project. Plummer and Associates, Inc. began the design with a Preliminary Engineering Report (PER). This contract also included a “gap” portion to be able to transition right into the final design phase since the City knew there would be long lead times to order the equipment. The “gap” portion allowed early approval for ordering the filter equipment which was just recently approved by City Council.
The total cost of Supplemental No. 1 is $788,073. The City of Round Rock is 60.76% participant in the cost of Supplemental Contract No. 1. This brings the City’s share of the Supplemental Agreement to $478,833.15.
