Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute an Agreement with Super Universal Waste, LLC for the purchase of household hazardous waste collection and disposal.

Body

The City of Round Rock provides Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection services through our Recycle Center located at 310 Deepwood Drive.  City of Round Rock residents can dispose of up to 25 gallons of HHW once a month at our monthly HHW collection events.  Non-residents may also utilize this service for a fee.

Last year, over 97 tons of HHW was collected, with 75 tons available for re-use, and 22 tons processed and disposed of through our current HHW waste processor, Green Planet.

In 2019, the City of Round rock granted a five year agreement to Green Planet for HHW processing. With the five year agreement coming to an end and after our HHW solicitation process, Super Universal Waste, LLC was the low bidder.  Through the solicitation process and speaking with the company directly, we are confident in awarding the new five year agreement to Super Universal Waste, LLC.

The City is authorized to pay Super Universal Waste, LLC an amount not-to-exceed of $196,640 for the five year term of this agreement.
