Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute an Agreement with AKH Consulting LLC for construction consulting services.

Body

This agreement with AKC Consulting LLC is for construction consulting services related the current bond projects. As the bond project approach the start of construction, the City of Round Rock Building Construction Division recognizes the need for additional consulting and management of the construction work related to site, underground, foundation, and structural construction. Arnie Hammock P.E., owner of AKH Consulting LLC, has served the City for over a decade as a principal engineer formerly at PSI Inc. and currently at Rock Engineering and Testing Laboratories LLC. Arnie has assisted the City with soils engineering, structural analysis, materials testing engineering, and project oversight for the construction of the Sports Center, Public Safety Training, Bob Bennett, Rock N River, Round Rock Library, Griffth and Paseo, and Fire Stations 4,8,3, and 1. The agreement would allow the City to utilize AKH Consulting LLC, over the next three years, to oversee the success of new facility construction and building renovation projects.

With the current construction workload over the next three years, the Building Construction department could use another FTE. With the approval of this agreement, Arnie would feel that void and bring a tremendous amount of knowledge to this project. Arnie will be performing in a Project Manager / Superintendent capacity so that we have daily onsite knowledge of the construction of Old Settlers Park. Arnie will also be instrumental in the Business Center Stabilization once that project kicks in late 2025.
