The City held a public bid opening on Thursday, March 26, 2026. Four responsive bid proposals were received by the City for the Roadway Widening and Traffic Signal Installation for the Intersection of Chandler Road and CR 119 project. The City's design engineer, HDR, reviewed and tabulated the bids as summarized below:
1. Dan Williams Company - $841,808.01
2. Patin Construction LLC - $943,605.00
3. Aaron Concrete Contractors, LLC - $967,285.80
4. Liberty Civil Construction - $1,159,603.70
Two unresponsive bid proposals were received by the City for the project.
1. E-Z Bel Construction, LLC submitted a bid of $835,717.50; however, this bid is considered disqualified for the following reason:
On the Statement of Bidder’s Safety Experience Form, Question 5 response indicates a lost time injury rate that exceeds the established limits.
2. Joe Bland Construction, LLC submitted a bid of $986,711.65; however, this bid is considered disqualified for the following reason:
On the Statement of Bidder’s Safety Experience Form, Question 4 response indicates the company has been fined by OSHA for willful safety violations in the past three years.
Based on review of the information presented, HDR recommends that Dan Williams Company is the lowest responsive bidder and be awarded the project.
