Title

Consider a resolution determining that Taknek, LLC provides the best value for the City for the Stone Oak Pump Station Modifications Project and authorizing the Mayor to execute a Standard Form of Agreement.

Body

The Stone Oak Booster Pump Station is located north of FM1431 in the Preserve at Stone Oak neighborhood. The station consists of a 1-million-gallon standpipe, 15,000-gallon hydro-pneumatic tank, and three booster pumps. The Stone Oak Booster Pump Station currently serves as a secondary emergency feed system for the 1071 water pressure plane.  Modifying the pump station to an inline pump system was proposed as a more efficient alternative to recoating the standpipe.

This project includes demolishing the current water standpipe and hydro-pneumatic tank, replacing the pumps, and adding variable frequency drive control to the pump station. Aspects of the demolition will require methodical and careful coordination to ensure the safety and preservation of nearby homes.

The City Council approved the project to use the competitive sealed proposal delivery method and was approved by Council on December 19, 2024. On May 30, 2025, three bids were received and publicly opened. The proposals were evaluated based on criteria outlined in the bid documents. The proposal evaluation included cost, the experience of the company, project team experience, past project experience with the City, and other criteria outlined in the project manual.

Taknek LLC. was the highest scoring contractor and is recommended for the contract award. This request is to authorize the construction contract to Taknek, LLC. in the amount of $1,978,101.00.
