Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute an Agreement with Technology for Education for the purchase and installation of a new audio video system at Rock 'N River.

Body

This item will authorize the City to issue a purchase order to Technology For Education for the purchase and installation of audio/visual equipment at Rock 'N River.  The system will include adding audio speakers connected to the City's Mood Media system, TV monitors connected to cable and the City's Scala messaging system, and a central control system that allows all audio/visual elements throughout the park to be controlled from the pool manager's office.

With the expansion of Rock'N River, it is necessary to add audio/visual improvements to the park to improve overall patron experience and safety.  From a safety perspective, a centrally distributed audio/visual system will allow us to rapidly send out one message across all television monitors and speakers when there is an incident that requires the pool to be cleared (lightning warnings, etc).  From a user experience perspective, the audio/visual improvements will place televisions in the concession/picnic areas & cabanas, music throughout the park, and digital message displays that can display various marketing messages.

This item was planned into the original design for the park expansion.  It also aligns with the Game On: Parks and Recreation Master Plan and the City Strategic Goals under Places and Spaces:

   - Improve city aesthetics, development and redevelopment quality, and sustainability

Cost: $140,890.00
