Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Contract with Chasco Constructors for the McNeil Road Extension Project.

The McNeil Road Extension - Phase 1 will involve the new construction, and alignment, of McNeil Road from the Mays Street Bridge through its intersection of S. Burnet Street (approximately 1,200 feet). Additionally, the project will connect existing Lampasas with the new alignment of McNeil Rd. (approximately 170 feet). McNeil Rd will be a new three(3) lane local, collector, asphalt roadway with a 30mph design speed*; including a two-way left turn lane. Lampasas will be a two(2) lane section of road with provisions for on-street parking. Further, the project will include earthwork, grading, flexible base, drainage structures, asphalt concrete, pavement, signing, illumination and sidewalks.
There were a total of eight(8) potential bidders that participated in the bidding process for the McNeil Rd. Extension - Phase 1 on January 11, 2018. The bids were as follows:
1. Chasco Constructors: $1,744,147.00
2. Smith Contracting: $1,749,723.95
3. Austin Engineering Co: $1,856,449.85
4. Patin Construction: $1,966,471.00
5. Cash Construction: $1,978,691.00
6. Underground Water Solutions: $2,067,082.50
7. Aaron Concrete: $2,074,895.98
8. Cox Commercial Construction: $2,132,689.00
Chasco Constructors was the apparent low bidder for the McNeil Road Extension - Phase 1 with a bid in the amount of $1,744,147.00. The Transportation Department recommends awarding the contract to Chasco Constructors in exchange for providing construction services for the McNeil Road Extension - Phase 1.
