Consider a resolution authorizing the City Manager to issue a Purchase Order to Smith Pump Company, Inc. for a new return activated sludge pump at the Brushy Creek East Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant.

 

Body

The Brushy Creek East Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant is owned by the Cities of Austin, Cedar Park, Leander, and Round Rock. Round Rock is operates the plant on behalf of the owning Cities.  During the treatment process, the plant must pump active microorganisms back to the Aeration Basins so that they can do their part in the biological treatment process. The Return Activated Sludge Pump is important for the needed resiliency for the treatment process.
