Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Quantity Adjustment/Change Order No. 3 with Cash Construction for the Southwest Downtown District Infrastructure Improvements Phase 5B Project.

On January 12, 2017 a construction contract was awarded to Cash Construction for $4,315,214.00.
QA/CO #1 was approved by City Council for $94,841.00. Work was for water line and storm drain upgrades.
QA/CO #2 was approved by City Council for $39,912.00. Work was for concrete walls at the fire station and other walls along Bagdad & Blair Street.
This project to improve the Downtown Area has been ongoing for the last few years and this Phase is in the two block region of Blair and Bagdad. This change order is for items that over ran the plan quantities and or were added due to varying field conditions. Quantity adjustment items included additional concrete steps at the Fire Station #2, concrete driveways, and additional sidewalk. The Quantity Adjustment amount is $55,310.00.
Additional contract items that are included on the Change Order are a new gate at Lee's Body Shop, 6-foot CMU walls, dumpster pads, bollards, and the Rock Pedestals for the brass plate signage for the Immortal 10 Bridge. The Change Order amount is $ 51,367.00. The combined total for this QA/CO item is $106,677.00 resulting in a new adjusted contract price of $4,556,644.00
