Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute an Engineering Services Contract with Cobb Fendley & Associates, Inc. for the SH 45 and A.W. Grimes Wastewater Line Upsize Project.

This agenda item is for the engineering contract associated with the up-sizing of an existing 12-inch wastewater line to a 15-inch diameter wastewater line. A recent wastewater capacity analysis report found the existing 12-inch wastewater line crossing under State Highway (SH) 45 near A.W. Grimes Boulevard needing to be up-sized to 15-inches to support future demand in this area.
This project includes the installation of approximately 650 linear feet of 15-inch wastewater pipe in 30-inch steel casing across SH 45 via jack and bore installation, abandonment of the existing 12-inch wastewater line in place, and abandonment of an obsolete 8-inch lateral for Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).
This contract with Cobb Fendley & Associates, Inc. will provide design, bid, and construction phase services to up-size the wastewater line crossing SH 45 west of AW Grimes Boulevard. The total for engineering services for the crossing is $270,598. The engineering cost and the majority of the construction cost for the project are anticipated to be paid for using developer contributions.
