The Brushy Creek East Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant uses belt presses as one of the final processes in removal of liquid from the sludge. These belt-presses are very important to the plant and must be maintained at all times. Without these belt presses, the treatment plant would not be able to process the sludge in preparation of transport from the plant. Alfa Laval is the sole source provider of parts and services for these belt presses.
The U&ES Department recommends approval of this five year agreement with Alfa Laval in the amount of $70,000/year or $350,000 for the five years. The costs for this agreement is shared by the partner Cities based on their annual operational percentage of the budget.
