Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute an Agreement with Veolia Water Technologies Treatment Solutions USA for the purchase of components, equipment, and maintenance services related to wastewater ultraviolet disinfection systems.

Body

The Brushy Creek East Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) receives wastewater from the Cities of Round Rock, Austin, Cedar Park, and Leander. Ultraviolet (UV) disinfection is used as part of the wastewater treatment process. The UV System is very important to the disinfection process in ensuring that the plant meets our effluent discharge parameters.

Veolia Water Technologies Treatment Solutions USA is the company selected for this contract, since they are the sole-source provider of the regional wastewater plant for the services being purchased pursuant to this agreement.  The WWTP staff recommends this contract with Veolia Water Technologies Treatment Solutions USA for a total not-to-exceed amount of $318,172.70.  These costs are shared by the partner Cities in the Brushy Creek Regional WWTP based on each Cities annual flow percentage into the regional WWTP.  The term of agreement is through December 31, 2030.
