Title

Consider public testimony regarding, and an ordinance amending Zoning and Development Code, Chapter 4, Section 4-48, Code of Ordinances (2018 Edition), regarding driveway spacing. (First Reading)*

Body

Recent amendments to the city's Transportation Design and Construction Standards (DACS) require an amendment to Section 4-48 of the Zoning & Development Code to ensure consistency amongst the documents. Specifically, staff proposes to revise Section 4-48 of the Code regarding driveway separation for common-lot townhome, multifamily, and non-residential driveways to increase the minimum spacing from 200 feet to 250 feet between driveways along arterial streets as measured from the edge of pavement at the nearest intersection.

At its November 5, 2025, meeting, the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval of the code amendment by a vote of 7-0. There were no speakers during the public hearing.
