Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the submittal of a grant application for FY 2026 Federal Transit Authority Section 5307 funds for public transit services.

Body

Consider a resolution authorizing the submission of an application to the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) for FY2026 Section 5307 funding in the amount of $1,328,174.

The funding is made available through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), which allocates funding to states and urbanized areas, for public transportation.  These funds have been reallocated from Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority, the designated recipient for the Austin Urbanized Area.

These funds will support the continued delivery of affordable, accessible, and efficient public transportation services for the residents of Round Rock. Grant funding will be used for public transit operations, including fixed-route and on-demand services, both of which will be provided through full turnkey contracts.

The Transit Coordinator will oversee program operations and ensure compliance with all grant administration and federal requirements.
