Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Contract for Engineering Services with H.W. Lochner, Inc. for the McNutt Lift Station Improvements Project.

Body

The McNutt Lift Station was built around 2008 to convey wastewater flow from the McNutt Interceptor, serving the northeast area of the City, into the Brushy Creek East Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant. The lift station was put into service with two pumps to meet capacity needs at the time and was designed with a 3rd pump slot for additional future capacity. Due to growth, the flow into the lift station has increased over time and is projected to continue increasing. To meet capacity requirements, a 3rd pump needs to be added to the lift station. Additionally, the lift station has been in service for nearly 20 years and requires rehabilitation.

The project will improve the reliability of the lift station by replacing the two existing pumps, due to age and condition, and adding a 3rd pump for increased capacity. The project also includes the replacement or rehabilitation of components such as valves, piping, wet well coating, electrical, and controls as well as the addition of a slide gate that will allow the lift station to be isolated for safer maintenance access.

This item is for the approval of a new professional services agreement with H. W. Lochner, Inc. for design, bid, and construction phase services for the McNutt Lift Station Improvements project. The amount of the agreement is $466,126.34.
