The Department seek approval of a Purchase Order for a new mobile command vehicle from Siddons-Martin Emergency Group, LLC for a total cost of $1,850,000. The vehicle will replace the Department’s aging Farber command bus, which will be traded in for a $30,000 rebate.
The current command vehicle has reached the end of its operational life and lacks the technological infrastructure required for modern incident management. The new mobile command unit will serve as a central operations hub during natural disasters and large events, enable real-time data, and provide on-site command capability improving operational efficiency.

- Advanced radio interoperability and network connectivity systems
- Integrated video, audio, and data systems for multi-agency coordination
- Exterior-mounted monitors and camera systems for scene management
- Redundant power, lighting, and air-conditioning systems for extended deployments
- A 42-foot heavy-duty mast system, rooftop antennas, and 5G-capable communications
- Conference and operations areas with digital workstations, touch-screen displays, and secure connectivity
- Emergency lighting, siren, and surveillance packages meeting NFPA and public safety standards
