Title
Consider a resolution authorizing the City Manager to issue a Purchase Order to Stryker Sales LLC for the purchase of Automated External Defibrillators.
Body
This purchase request is to allow for the full replacement of the 12-lead heart monitors on all primary fire apparatus. A 12-lead monitor is placed on a patient that is complaining of cardiac and/or respiratory issues. The monitor tracks, records, and visually shows the hearts rhythm (electrical activity) and allows Advanced EMT’s and Paramedics to recognize blockages and heart attacks. The reason for the full replacement of the monitors is that our current monitors have reached their end of life, meaning software upgrades and parts are no longer available. The Life Pak -15, which is the 12-lead monitor that we are seeking to purchase is the same model currently used by Williamson County EMS and makes operations between the Fire Department and EMS run smoother on scene because everyone is familiar with the equipment. The expected life span of this monitor is 10 years.
