Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Contract with Lone Star Paving for the 2019 Street Maintenance Program (SMP) Project D.

A total of four (4) sealed bids were received and opened on July 21, 2020 for the 2019 SMP D. The bids ranged from $1,032,002.50 to $1,287,250.75. Lone Star Paving from Austin, Texas submitted the lowest bid in the amount of $1,032,002.50. The engineer's opinion of probable construction cost for this project was $1,000,000. Lone Star Paving successfully completed similar project for the City within the last five years and has proven they are capable of performing the work.
After reviewing the contractor's experience and bid price, we recommend award of this project to Lone Star Paving in the amount of $1,032,002.50.
