Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Contract for Engineering Services with Halff Associates, Inc. for the Deepwood Drive Extension Project.

The Deepwood Drive Extension contract will provide the engineering services to extend Deepwood Drive as an urban arterial four-lane divided roadway with curb and gutter within a minimum 120 ft ROW. The project begins at the current terminus at RM 620 and continues north across Brushy Creek and the regional trail, and then terminates at a connection to Sam Bass Road for a total length of approximately 2,100 ft. The Deepwood Drive Extension will span Brushy Creek with twin bridges approximately 840 ft in length. Traffic signal upgrades will be necessary at RM 620 and a potential signal or roundabout will be evaluated at Sam Bass Road.
Halff's engineering services are for environmental, drainage, structural, and traffic studies to generate schematic phase alignment and will determine ROW and utility relocation needs and includes public involvement. The total fee for these services is $831,222.77.
