Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Quantity Adjustment/Change Order No. 3 with Patin Construction, LLC for the Heritage Trail West Project.

Body

This Change Order with Patin Construction includes several items such as replacing the rock dissipaters on Chisholm Trail Road, installing rock veneer on the bridge abutments and a flagstone patio, painting the spiral columns, and installing coffin bollards.  Each of these items will decrease maintenance and improve the aesthetics in the area.  Additionally,  this change order includes adding height to the spiral ramp (a requirement from the structural engineer), AT&T requirements to relocate fiber lines, additional trail counters, replacement of stolen lights, and drainage modifications to capture water from CD Fulkes Middle School.  Finally, it includes rehabilitation of the Bluff Field at Memorial Park.  This field was taken off irrigation by the previous contractor and left to sit for over two years while the City worked with the surety company.  For more information on each of these items, see the attached summary sheet.

The Heritage Trail project includes a 10' wide trail detailing the history of Round Rock as a timeline.  The project spans from the Bathing Beach at Chisholm Trail Road to Mays Street and include improvements at Bathing Beach Park, Chisholm Trail Crossing Park, and Memorial Park.  The programmatic elements of the project will include historical, educational, arts & cultural, and general park elements.  All elements encourage community events and development revitalization along the corridor.
