Title
Consider a presentation by the Capital Area Council of Governments regarding the Environmental Protection Agency's proposed ozone standards.
Body
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing new, more stringent, standards for ground-level ozone. The Capital Area Council of Governments (CAPCOG) Air Quality Program will present to Council what EPA has proposed, how it might impact Central Texas, and possible responses from the region. At the direction of the Central Texas Clean Air Coalition (CAC) the CAC Advisory Committee has drafted a formal letter to EPA on the proposed ozone standards and a sample letter to the Congressional delegation from each CAC member asking for Congressional action on the new proposed standards. These letters were presented to the CAC at its meeting on Wednesday, March 11.
