Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Contract for Engineering Services with BGE, Inc. for the Heritage Trail East Project.

This item authorizes BGE to conduct the necessary environmental clearance associated with the Federal grant that will be administered by TxDOT. The Parks and Recreation Department was awarded a Transportation Alternative Grant in the amount of $6,302,417 (with $318,159 indirect state cost associated with it) for the Heritage Trail East Project. The Grant is an 80%-20% matching grant, so the City will be responsible for $1,575,604 associated with the grant. The grant has more stringent design and environmental requirements that is typical on a project of this size and scale. This item includes all environmental design that was originally excluded from the design contract.
