Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a supplemental Order Form with Flock Group, Inc. for license plate readers and related cameras.

The proposed resolution would authorize a $181,250.00 supplemental contract with Flock Group Inc. for additional automated license plate readers (ALPRs) to be funded from a grant awarded earlier this year by the Texas Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority. The City already contracts with Flock for the provision of fixed and mobile ALPR cameras placed throughout the City. The supplemental contract would provide an additional 40 cameras -- 30 of which can be moved throughout the immediate region as part of the Regional Vehicle Burglary Suppression Task Force. The remaining 10 cameras would provide for remote viewing at fixed locations in the City.
These cameras are subject to annual contract charges. The annual grant program is likely to be renewable; in the event that grant funding ends, the Department would seek to cancel the grant-funded portion of the program's annual charges. The "source of funds" listed below is the Law Enforcement Fund because the City's required matching dollars for the grant come from that fund.
