Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute an Interlocal Agreement with Williamson County regarding the Southwest Williamson County Regional Park Water Meter Relocation Project.

Body

The Southwest Williamson County Regional Park located along County Road (CR) 175 north of FM1431 has an existing four-inch City water meter. The water meter for the property is located at the corner of FM1431 and CR175, which is 3,750 feet from the park.

The City of Round Rock and Williamson County both desire to have the water meter relocated to the Park’s property line.  Relocating the water meter will bring the property into the City’s standard metering arrangement. It will also provide the opportunity to provide increase fire flow to the property, and increased backflow prevention controls.

The City of Round Rock and Williamson County negotiated the terms of the meter relocation.  Based on those discussions, Williamson County will provide funding up to $40,000 for the meter and backflow prevention device materials.  Williamson County will also grant an easement to the City for the water meter.  The City of Round Rock will take on the responsibility of relocating the meter and installing backflow controls.

This Interlocal Agreement between the City of Round Rock and Williamson County formalizes the arrangement to complete the water meter relocation for the Southwest Williamson County Regional Park.
