Consider an ordinance amending Chapter 44, Sections 44-29 and 44-30, Code of Ordinances (2010 Edition), regarding water and sewer service to wholesale customers. (Second Reading)
Body
The City has been working with a committee representing a group of wholesale customers regarding rate increases. The purpose of these discussions has been to review the assumptions and methodology that went into the rate making model. As a result of these ongoing discussions, it has been determined by City management that it would be prudent to spend more time and effort to make certain that the wholesale rates are fair and reasonable. This ordinance recommends that the City Council adopt a new ordinance rolling back the recent rate increase to the rates that were in effect prior to October 1, 2013. The revised rates will be applied retroactively to October 1, 2013.
