Title

Consider a resolution  authorizing the Brushy Creek Regional Utility Authority (BCRUA) to approve a contract with Control Panels USA, Inc. for the BCRUA Delivery Points Improvements Phase 2 Project.

Body

This item is for the award of the construction contract for Brushy Creek Regional Utility Authority (BCRUA) - Delivery Points Improvements Phase 2 project.

BCRUA elected to upgrade several of the finished water delivery points to allow for better flow control and move toward a more standard approach to each delivery point. Phase 1 of the delivery points construction project is currently underway and is scheduled to be completed in July 2024. Phase 2 of the project will make improvements to several of the City of Leander take points, and will not involve any changes to the City of Round Rock’s take points.

On June 6, 2024, BCRUA opened two competitive sealed proposals for the Delivery Point Phase 2 project. Based on the scoring of the proposals, BCRUA has determined that Control Panels USA (CPUSA) had the highest-ranking proposal. CPUSA also provided the lowest cost proposal and is the current contractor for the Delivery Points Phase 1 contract.

This contract exceeds the BCRUA Board maximum limit of $500,000 which then requires separate consideration and approval by all three-member City Councils. The contract was approved by the BCRUA Board on June 26, 2024.

The total amount payable under this contract is $612,000.28. The City of Round Rock’s share for the project will be $0.
