Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute an Agreement for Architectural Services and accompanying Supplemental Agreement No. 1 with McKinney York Architects for the Fire Station  No. 1 Project.

Body

The City of Round Fire Department has identified City owned property at 2901 Settlement Dr. as an optimal location to build a Fire Station. The location would replace the Central Fire Station (Fire Station 1) and best serve the area by reducing response times and allowing the Fire Department to repurpose the existing Central Fire Station. The City of Round Rock's Fire Department has determined that a previously designed prototype fire station will work for the location and station needs.

This resolution is for architectural services, with McKinney York Architects, to update the current prototype Fire Station plans to new building codes, add a fourth vehicle bay for apparatus, and redesign the HVAC system and roof. McKinney York Architects successfully performed similar services for the Fire Station 3 project.

Staff is presenting a resolution, for Council’s consideration, to authorize the Mayor to execute a Agreement for Architectural Services with McKinney York Architects in the amount of $414,500.00  to provide architectural services for the project entitled Fire Station 1.

Cost: $414,500.00
