Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute an Agreement with Trojan Technologies Group ULC for the purchase of UV disinfection system repair and maintenance parts.

Body

Brushy Creek East Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) receives wastewater from the Cities of Round Rock, Austin, Cedar Park, and Leander. The WWTP uses Trojan Technologies, an ultraviolet light to disinfect treated effluent by breaking down the DNA of bacteria, viruses, and parasites. In 2013, the WWTP underwent a rehabilitation which included the Trojan UV 3000 Plus System. In the Fall of 2022, the 30MGD Expansion Project at Brushy Creek East WWTP brought online the Trojan UV Signa System. Disinfection is the final step in the treatment process, and it is critical to ensure high quality effluent enters the receiving stream.

The WWTP staff recommends this contract with Trojan Technologies for a total not-to-exceed amount of $350,000.  These costs are shared by the partner cities in the Brushy Creek Regional WWTP based on their annual flow percentage into the regional WWTP.  Term of agreement is through March 2031.

Cost: $350,000.00
