Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Quantity Adjustment/Change Order No. 1 with Austin Engineering Co., Inc. for the Greenlawn Boulevard from IH35 to SH45 Project.

This Quantity Adjustment/Change Order (QA/CO) No. 1 incorporates revisions to the Greenlawn Boulevard Improvement Project (R-2025-134) resulting from updated design requirements, constructability review, and coordination with the ongoing CLOMR approval process. The revisions include modifications to the Traffic Control Plan, roadway geometry, stormwater line design, drainage features, and quantities of several bid items.
Key updates include:
• Simplified Traffic Control Plan (TCP): Phasing was revised to accommodate CLOMR-related scheduling, eliminate temporary detours, and reduce the need for low-profile concrete traffic barrier.
• Roadway and Geometric Corrections: The milling and overlay limits were corrected; driveway vertical geometry was improved; embankment widths were updated to match safety hardware requirements; and right-of-way boundaries were corrected throughout the plan set.
• Stormwater and Drainage Modifications: Updates were made to the storm sewer design to account for and properly interface with The District site improvements. These modifications ensure compatible drainage flows, utility clearances, and long-term maintainability.
• Quantity Adjustments: Several excavation, embankment, detour, and drainage-related quantities were revised based on the updated design, simplifying construction sequencing and reducing the overall material movement required.
• New and Revised Bid Items: New items were added to reflect updated field conditions and revised drainage requirements, and certain existing items were adjusted to accurately capture the corrected scope of work.
Approval of this QA/CO No. 1 will allow the contractor to proceed with the revised plans and maintain project schedule alignment with the CLOMR milestone.
