Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Contract with Environmental Improvements Inc. for the East Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant Clarifiers 1 & 2 Rehabilitation Project.

Body

The City owns a percentage an operates the Brushy Creek East Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant. (WWTP) Prior to the 10 million gallon per day (MG) plant expansion, the plant had four existing clarifiers. These clarifiers are integral treatment units. Each one designed to handle five MGD of capacity. Clarifiers No. 1 & No. 2 were placed into service around 1995 and need complete rehabilitation including all the center structure and rake arms. Environmental Improvements, Inc. is the manufacturer's representative for the Evoqua equipment in all the clarifiers at the East WWTP. They also service and replace clarifier equipment and are the local experts in this field. The work needs to happen as soon as we get it performed since several repairs have recently been made to the clarifiers indicating the equipment will not last much longer. The total cost of $2,173,000 for this project includes all labor and equipment. This cost is shared by the partner Cities based on existing capacities and Round Rock's portion is 81.96% of the $2,173,000.
