Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Quantity Adjustment/Change Order No. 1 with Aaron Concrete Contractors, LLC for the Smyers Lane & CR 122 Rehabilitation Project.

Body

Quantity Adjustment/Change Order No. 1 proposes to add a 2-inch mill and overlay on Mays Street that will be added to the Smyers Lane and CR 122 Rehabilitation Project.  The extents of the addition on Mays Street is from Main Street extending south across The Immortal Ten Bridge and terminating at the Logan Street intersection.

The original project scope included full rehabilitation/rebuild of Smyers Lane/CR 122, with an additional effort to stabilize the underlying soils. The construction contract was approved in July of 2026 and construction is expected to commence in October of 2026. The Mays addition will serve as a portion of the 2027 Arterial Street Maintenance Program and will extend the Mays Street repaving effort beyond the segment on Mays Street completed earlier this year. After completion, North Mays Street will have been repaved from Old Settlers Boulevard to Logan Street.

The addition of this segment will not impact the construction schedule of Smyers Lane/Cr 122.
