Title

Body

The State of Texas entered into Settlement Agreements with manufacturer Johnson & Johnson and three distributors to resolve legal claims for their roles in the opioid crisis. Political subdivisions can receive an allocation of the settlement funds by joining the settlement. Monies received by the subdivisions must be used to support any of a wide variety of strategies to fight the opioid crisis. The deadline for subdivisions to join is January 2, 2022. The City is estimated to receive a direct payment of $475,992.00 per the Texas Term Sheet.
