This agenda item is for the construction contract for the addition of two pressure relief valves, vaults, and associated piping, to the City of Round Rock Water Treatment Plant. Round Rock Utility Staff previously selected CDM Smith, Inc. to design the project.
To provide adequate pressure and accommodate the water distribution system when Barton Hill Elevated Storage Tank, a 2.7-million gallon structure, is taken offline for recoating, CDM proposed the addition of a pressure relief valve to the Water Treatment Plant. A second pressure relief valve is included in the project to assist the City during an emergency by moving BCRUA water into the eastern portion of the City.
The Utilities and Environmental Services Department opened bids on March 10, 2022, with only one bidder submitting a bid. Prota, Inc. bid the total construction cost at $1,598,867.
