Consider a proclamation recognizing the Rockin' City Rollergirls.
 
Body
WHEREAS, the Rockin' City Rollergirls serve the City of Round Rock and surrounding Williamson County by offering a team sport environment to women of all ages in the form of competitive flat-track roller derby; and
 
WHEREAS, the Rockin' City Rollergirls were founded in 2012 when a handful of dedicated and skilled skaters wanted to share their passion for roller derby; and
 
WHEREAS, the league is a diverse group of women from all walks of life that  promotes the health and fitness of women, and provides a team environment where the women of Round Rock can come together to play a challenging sport; and
 
      WHEREAS, it is also the focus of the Rockin' City Rollergirls to develop a competitive local sports team that can drive spectators, visitors and fans to Round Rock;
 
      NOW THEREFORE, I, ALAN MCGRAW, Mayor of the City of Round Rock, Texas, do hereby recognize the Rockin' City Rollergirls for bringing the sport of roller derby to Round Rock and their dedication to the sport and invite all citizens of the City of Round Rock out to watch the team play their first home bout of the their first full season on April 28th, 2013 at the Austin Sports Arena, located at 3918 Gattis School Road in Round Rock.
