Title
Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Quantity Adjustment/Change Order No. 1 with Muniz Concrete & Contracting, Inc. for the Lake Creek Trail - Round Rock West Park to Centennial Plaza Project
Body
This items authorizes the Mayor to execute a QA/CO with Muniz Concrete. The construction of the Lake Creek Trail has followed behind a wastewater line project. As such, the trail plan existing conditions did not match what the utility contractor left behind. This required additional excavation of material to make the trail accessible and have no impact on the surrounding floodplain. Additionally, due to delays with the railroad, the wastewater project was delayed and requested that a portion of the trail be left out so they could access their line when approved by the railroad. Next, while excavating the trail, the contractor uncovered a gas line that was not shown in the plans. This required the trail be shifted slightly and for equipment to be remobilized. Finally, onsite conditions required additional trail armoring beneath I-35. All other items listed on this change order were quantity adjustments due to the above mentioned items.
The Lake Creek Trail project includes a 10' wide trail spanning from Round Rock West Drive to Centennial Plaza. It will include pedestrian underpasses under the Railroad, IH-35, and a bridge spanning Lake Creek near Centennial Plaza. It will also include site amenities and general park elements along the trail.
