Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Supplemental Contract No. 1 with DCS Engineering, LLC for the West Transmission Main Valve Replacement Project.

Body

The City of Round Rock’s potable 36-inch west transmission main was initially installed in 1987 to meet the growing water demand to the west and southwest of Round Rock. The valves originally installed were butterfly valves. These valves have reached the end of their useful life and will be replaced with gate valves to allow for reliable operations.

DCS Engineering provided preliminary engineering services to evaluate several potential locations for valve installations. Based on the results of the preliminary engineering, three locations were selected to move forward with final design. Two locations are on the west transmission water main along FM1431, and one location is along I-35 just south of FM1431.

This Supplemental No. 1 to the original contract is for final design, bidding and construction phase engineering services for the west transmission main valve replacement project. The total cost of the supplemental is $143,810.

Cost: $143,810.00
