Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Contract for Engineering Services with Parkhill for the Recycle Center Master Plan - Phase 1 Project.

Body

The City's Recycling Center is located at Deep Wood Drive. The Center has provided the citizens of Round Rock the opportunity to dispose of certain materials that can then be recycled, which eliminates materials being disposed of at the landfill. Parkhill has conducted a master plan of the property last year and now the City would like to proceed with the design phase for Phase 1 Project at the property.

These improvements in Phase 1 include:

- Relocating the existing brush recycling area to the westernmost portion of the property.

- Increase site access improvements to the entrance from Deepwood Drive for both northbound and southbound lanes for smoother traffic flow, shorter wait times, and natural way finding on site.

- Additional stormwater controls to be implemented as part of the property's stormwater management system in accordance with City standards due to the increase in additional impervious cover.

The City recommends contracting Parkhill for a contract amount of $249,500 for the Phase 1 design.
