Title

Consider a resolution approving the selection of Hensel Phelps Construction Company as Construction Manager at Risk and authorizing the Mayor to execute a Standard Form of Agreement with Hensel Phelps Construction Company for the construction of the Bob Bennett Complex Phases II, III, and IV project.

Body

The City of Round Rock City Council previously approved the Bob Bennett Complex Phases II, III, and IV project as a Construction Manager at Risk alternative delivery method. This resolution is for Council’s consideration for Hensel Phelps Construction Company as best value Construction Manager for the Bob Bennett Complex Phases II, III, and IV project.

The City had five respondents to the solicitation for Construction Manager at Risk from Hensel Phelps, Adolfson & Peterson Construction, Balfour Beatty, Muckleroy & Falls, and CORE Construction. After scoring and interviews, Hensel Phelps Construction Company was selected by the City of Round Rock CMAR scoring committee as being the top ranked contractor.

Hensel Phelps' project resume reflects similar scopes as the Bob Bennett Complex Phases II, III, and IV project and has a dedicated team committed to all three phases of the project. Hensel Phelps has successfully completed projects in Round Rock, such as Kalahari Resorts & Conventions and the City of Round Rock Public Library.
