Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Contract for Engineering Services with CP&Y, Inc. for the Brushy Creek East (BCE) Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Rerate Improvements Project.

Body

This project will allow the Brushy Creek East WWTP capacity to go from its current 21.5 mgd to 25 mgd.  The expansion is summarized in an Engineering report prepared by CDM Smith, Inc. and presented to TCEQ as a part of the latest permit renewal process. The current permit shows the requirements for granting the re-rate of the East WWTP and includes expansion of the anoxic basin volume, additional aeration capacity to the aeration basins, and a flow-paced chemical feed system for chemical treatment for phosphorous removal. This contract with CP&Y, Inc. is for the preliminary engineering scope of work. A supplemental contract to complete the design will follow at a future date.  Round Rock will participate in this project at the percentage of ownership in the Brushy Creek East WWTP improvements at their rate of 81.96%.  Round Rock will administer the project on behalf of the system and bill their partners accordingly.

Cost: $39,973.00
