his item authorizes the Mayor to execute a contract with Swift Corporation, LLC to replace the damaged fence at the Shayla Dame Skatepark as a result of the tornado on March 21, 2022. Initially, a contractor was hired to remove the damaged fence posts and fabric that created a safety hazard while the City decided which type of fencing to replace it with. Prior to the damage from the tornado, the skatepark fence was frequently vandalized/damaged to provide direct access to/from the rear of the park. This has created safety and security concerns. PARD has worked closely with the Police Department to select a fence that would increase security and is less susceptible to damage and vandalism.
The apparent low bidder on this project formally requested to withdraw their bid due to an estimation error. Swift Corporation, LLC was the second lowest bidder and confirmed their bid price was accurate.
