Title
Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Quantity Adjustment/Change Order No. 2 with Muniz Concrete & Contracting, Inc. for the Lake Creek Trail - Round Rock West Park to Centennial Plaza Project.
Body
This items authorizes the Mayor to execute a QA/CO with Muniz Concrete. The bulk of this Change Order
covers several items associated with the wastewater / retaining wall conflict. While working on a solution for the wastewater line project, the contractor had to demobilize. During this extended break from work, the contractor continued to incur charges for items like security, erosion control maintenance, etc. Additionally, during the work stoppage, the cost of labor and material escalated, so this change order includes updates to the existing unit prices within the contract. Also included in this change order are pre- and post-surveys which were required to ensure the site was left in the same condition when the utility contractor performed the work. Drainage issues and modifications to the retaining wall are also included in this change order. Finally, there were a couple of credits to the project after trail and wall modifications were made and those scopes of work were no longer required, as well removing revegetation of the project. It was determined that that scope of work would be more cost effective to do outside of this construction project. Please see the attached summary form for a detailed description of each element associated with this change order.
The Lake Creek Trail project includes a 10' wide trail spanning from Round Rock West Drive to Centennial Plaza. It will include pedestrian underpasses under the Railroad, IH-35, and a bridge spanning Lake Creek near Centennial Plaza. It will also include site amenities and general park elements along the trail.
