Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a letter of understanding with Aetna regarding Life Insurance, Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Coverage and Disability Coverage from January 1, 2016 through December 31, 2016.

Body

This letter of Agreement is to allow Aetna to provide Basic Life Insurance & AD&D and Long term Disability coverage to City employees to be paid for by the City.  In addition, this agreement also allows Aetna to offer voluntary life insurance and Short Term Disability to City employees to be paid for by the employee with no City contributions.  The cost of basic life insurance and AD&D will remain the same this year as we continued with Aetna as the provider.  We will see decrease in cost for Basic Life and Long Term Disability this year.

Staff recommends approval.
