Title

Consider public testimony regarding, and an ordinance rezoning 1.02 acres located on the north side of Ledbetter Street, west of Clark Street from the C-1 (General Commercial) zoning district to the SF-2 (Single-Family - Standard Lot) zoning district. (First Reading)*

Body

The property was zoned C-1 (General Commercial) in 1986 but has remained undeveloped. In 2009, the property was recorded as Lot 2, Block A of the Ledbetter Oaks Subdivision. All other lots within the subdivision are zoned as SF-2 (Single Family - standard lot). This rezoning has been initiated by the City with the consent of the property owner, The J. Moore Trust. The purpose of the rezoning is to make the zoning of the property consistent with the City’s Comprehensive Plan and with the remainder of the lots within the Ledbetter Oaks subdivision. The Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing on February 3, 2021 and voted 7-0 to recommend approval of the rezoning. There was one speaker at the public hearing who had questions about how the rezoning may affect his adjacent property.
