Title

Consider public testimony regarding the acquisition of park land from Fern Bluff Municipal Utility District (MUD), for the purpose of transportation, drainage, and utility uses related to the Wyoming Springs Blvd Segment 1 project.

Body

This project consists of extending the existing Wyoming Springs Blvd from Creekbend Boulevard at the south terminus to Old Settler’s Boulevard at the north terminus. This roadway will be a new 4-lane divided arterial roadway with off-street shared use paths. The road will span Hairy Man Road, Brushy Creek and Dry Fork creek as well as create a path that intersects with the existing hike and bike trail along Hairy Man Road. Environmental clearance and design are anticipated to be completed in 2022 with construction to commence in 2023.

For the purpose of the transportation project, park land from the Fern Bluff Municipal Utility District (MUD) must be acquired.  Chapter 26 of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Code requires that, prior to the use or taking of park land, a public hearing be conducted, and notice be given both to the landowner and the general public.  This notice has been given as required.

The City will be acquiring the subject tract of 1.75 acres.
