Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the submittal of a grant application for funding from the CAMPO SurfaceTransportation Block Grant for the construction of Kenney Fort Boulevard - Segment 6.

Body

Transportation is proposing to apply for CAMPO (Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization) Call for projects for FY 2028 funding. Kenney Fort Boulevard segments 5 and 6 are individually candidates for the Surface Transportation Block Grant program, under the category of Infrastructure construction. Transportation is proposing to apply segments 5 and 6 separately.

If awarded, the City and Williamson County would provide a total of 40% of the construction costs, while 60% would be reimbursed via the grant program.

The current construction estimate and cost breakdown is:

                     Segment 5: $35.3M                                         Segment 6: $26.3M

                                          CAMPO:                     $21.2M                                          CAMPO:                     $15.8M

City of Round Rock:  $9.6M                                                               City of Round Rock:  $6M

Williamson County:  $4.5M                                                               Williamson County:  $4.5M

Kenney Fort Boulevard Segments 5 and 6 are two of four applications, which if all awarded, would obligate the City to $25M in matching.
