The subject property was platted in 2018 and annexed into the City in 2019. The property is undeveloped and un-zoned. This zoning request has been initiated by the property owners, Donald and Lynne O'Connor. The purpose of the request is to allow for the development of a local retail center to support restaurant, office, and retail uses. The property has a residential land use designation in the Comprehensive Plan, which allows for neighborhood commercial uses. The Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing on April 21, 2021 and voted 9-0 to recommend approval of the C-2 zoning district. There were no speakers at the public hearing.
