Title
Consider a resolution determining that Patin Construction, LLC provides the best value for the City for the West Transmission Main Valve Replacement Project and authorizing the Mayor to execute a Standard Form of Agreement.
Body
The City of Round Rock’s 36-inch west transmission main was initially installed in 1987 to meet the growing demand to the west and southwest of Round Rock. The valves originally installed were butterfly valves. The valves have reached the end of their useful life and will be replaced with gate valves to allow reliable system operations.
DCS Engineering is under contract for design, bid, and construction phase engineering services. As part of the design, staff evaluated critical locations to determine which existing valves to replace with gate valves. Nine valves will be replaced at three locations on the west water transmission main.
The project advertised for construction in September, and three (3) proposals were received. Patin Construction LLC. was determined during evaluation to be the best competitive sealed proposal. This request is for the award of a construction contract to Patin Construction LLC. in the amount of $1,463,470.00.
